The JoCNForum provides a single archival platform for moderated discussion and debate of topics of relevance to the conduct and dissemination of cognitive neuroscience research.
The content of this forum is determined entirely by self-initiated submissions from the community. Each discussion begins with an Initial Post, in which one or more authors articulate an idea, question, statement, or argument. Once an Initial Post appears on this site, readers who want to comment on it (e.g., to express agreement and add elaboration, or to express disagreement) can submit a Response, which will also appear on this site and will be linked to the Initial Post. Responses to a response will form a thread, and multiple branching threads can grow off of one Initial Post.
Each Initial Post and Response is assigned a unique identifier, to facilitate reference to it in a different medium, as well as archiving.
Submissions are made through the JoCN portal.
Handling Editors assess four properties of every post: (i) appropriateness of subject matter; (ii) credibility of the source; (iii) standards of civility and professionalism; (iv) content and style appropriate.
Importantly, Handling Editors do not make assessments of the perceived validity or “significance” of the content of a post.
